The area around the The Huc Bridge and Ngoc Son Temple looked very different than it is today.

The Bao An Temple used to be located on the banks of Hoan Kiem Lake. It was built in 1842 by Hanoi Governor Nguyen Quang Giai. In 1892, the temple was destroyed to build the post office and the bank, remaining only the Hoa Phong Tower (on Dinh Tien Hoang Street today).

After 100 years, the Sword Lake still retains its beauty.
