VietNamNet Bridge – On October 29 at 2.45pm, a special talk on the history of Vietnamese banknotes will be held at N Square, 51 To Ngoc Van Street, Hanoi by the Friends of Vietnam Heritage (FVH).

FVH’s cultural series continues with a presentation given by Mr. Ho Trong Minh, who designed the VND500,000 banknote when he was 29 years old. P

reviously he worked for the State Bank of Vietnam and now teaches graphic design at the Fine Arts University while writing his thesis and a book on the history of Vietnamese paper money.

Minh’s presentation will cover Vietnamese money (coins and notes) in ancient times and before 1945, Vietnamese banknotes from 1945 to the present day, banks in Vietnam, design of the notes, images used and meanings of each image. The audience can also raise questions related to the topic. 

Minh is the first person to document and consolidate information on Vietnamese banknotes, and the organizers hope that the audience is excited at the chance to meet an instrumental person in the modern era of Vietnamese banknotes.

The presentation will be supported by visual aids and verbal explanations.

The talk is for a maximum of 35 people, with set donation of VND200,000 ($10) per person.
