VietNamNet Bridge – The Ha Noi Transport Department has banned taxis from the busiest streets in the inner city during peak hours from today until February 7 to curb traffic congestion.

Accordingly, taxis will not be allowed to run during 6.30 – 8.30am and 4-7pm on De La Thanh (the section from Giang Vo Street to O Cho Dua Street), Nguyen Luong Bang Street (the section from Dong Cac Street to Ho Dac Di Street), Tay Son Street, Ton Duc Thang Street and Le Duan Street (the section from Tran Nhan Tong Street to Dai Co Viet Street).

Last year, the department imposed a similar ban that effectively curbed traffic congestion in the city in the days leading up to the lunar new year.
