Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has signed a decision approving the planning of border gates on the Vietnam - Cambodia land border for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

Specifically, the border gate planning on the Vietnam - Cambodia land border covers the provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Long An, Dong Thap, An Giang, and Kien Giang.

Under the planning, in the period of 2021-2030, Vietnam will open and upgrade 9 international border gates, 8 main border gates and 10 secondary border gates on the land border with Cambodia. It is expected that by 2030, the Vietnam - Cambodia border line will have 60 border gates, including 20 international border gates, 14 pairs of main border gates and 26 secondary border gates.

In Tay Ninh province alone, the pair of Chang Riec (Tay Ninh) - Dar (Tboung Khmum) border gate will be upgraded to international level. The Hoa Hiep border gate (Tay Ninh) - Khse Dek (Svay Rieng) will become a secondary border gate pair.

From now to 2050, Vietnam will open and upgrade 6 international border gates, 11 main border gates and 7 secondary border gates. By 2050, there will be 68 border gates between Vietnam and Cambodia, including 26 international border gates, 20 main border gates and 22 secondary border gates.

In Tay Ninh, the Moc Bai (Tay Ninh) - Bavet (Svay Rieng) border gates will become international railway border gates; Tong Le Chan (Tay Ninh) - Satum (Tboung Khmum), Vac Sa (Tay Ninh) - Satum (Tboung Khmum) and Hoa Hiep (Tay Ninh) - Khse Dek (Svay Rieng) border gates will become the main border gates; Go Noi border gate (Tay Ninh) - Com Pook Tusk (Svay Rieng) will become secondary border gates.

Tay Ninh province has nearly 234 km border adjacent to three provinces of Cambodia (Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, Tboung Khmum). There are currently 16 border gates in the province, including three international border gates (Moc Bai, Xa Mat, Tan Nam); three main border gates (Chang Riec, Ka Tum, Phuoc Tan) and 10 secondary border gates.
