At the police station, the terrorist is identified as Hoang Quang Nguyen, born 1984 in Thai Nguyen province.

Nguyen said he was a teacher of a primary school in Thai Nguyen who had just gone to Hanoi for several weeks.

Nguyen claimed that he needed money to pay his debts so he blackmailed gold shops.

Nguyen said he and his friends opened an advertising firm. However, due to losses, they borrowed a lot of money. To pay the debts, Nguyen intimidated tow gold shops to ask for the money.

Nguyen said he chose Phu Nguyen and Duc Chung gold shops for terrorism was accidentally. He went through these gold shops and noted their phone numbers and called them to intimidate for money.

After failing in intimidating Phu Nguyen gold shop, Nguyen turned to Duc Chung gold shop. When he was taking money from a dustbin, he was arrested.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Nguyen's mother said that before leaving home, to have money to do business, Nguyen mortgaged two pieces of land of his family to borrow money and gave up his job at a primary school.
