VietNamNet Bridge – Of the total 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam, the telephone area code of only four provinces, Phu Tho (210), Vinh Phuc (211), Hoa Binh (218), and Ha Giang (219), will be maintained.

According to a circular issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the new codes will be applied from March 1, 2015.

The circular also states that the telephone numbers of ground fixed telecommunication networks must be in 7 or 8 digits and it must be 7 digits for the number of satellite fixed telecommunication networks.

As for private telecommunication networks of the party, State agencies, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Public Security, the telephone numbers must be 5, 6 or 7 digits depending on the scale of each network and the application stages.
