VietNamNet Bridge – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on July 27, nominated ten candidates as chairpeople of the NA’s specialized committees and councils.

Of the ten nominees, four are re-nominated, including: Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Groups Ksor Phuoc, Chairman of the Committee for Finance-Budget Phung Quoc Hien, Chairman of the Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children Dao Trong Thi and Chairwoman of the Committee for Social Issues.

The six other nominees are: Phan Trung Ly – Chairman of the Committee for Legal Affairs, Nguyen Van Hien – Chairman of the Committee for Justice, Nguyen Van Giau – Chairman of the Committee for Economic Affairs, Nguyen Kim Khoa – Chairman of the Committee for Defense and Security, Phan Xuan Dung – Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment, Tran Van Hang – Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Affairs.

Of the ten nominees, Phan Xuan Dung is the youngest, 51, the Vice Chair of the 12th NA’s Committee for Science, Technology and Environment. The eldest is Dao Trong Thi, 60, Chairman of the 12th NA’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children.

Three of them are NA deputies for three consecutive terms: Ksor Phuoc, Phan Trung Ly and Truong thi Mai. The first nominee who joins the NA for the first time is the governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Van Giau. Seven of them are doctoral degree holders.

The NA also nominated vice chairs for NA’s committees. The election will take place on July 29.
