VietNamNet Bridge – MTV Vietnam has finalized a list of 10 Vietnamese artists who will compete for the "Best Worldwide Act" at the MTV European Music Awards. For the first time, music videos of Vietnam will have the opportunity to compete for a global award.

The list includes My Tam, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Thu Minh, Tuan Hung, Phuong Thanh, Lam Truong, Uyen Linh, Khac Viet, Dong Nhi and the 365 group.

Among them, pop stars My Tam and Thu Minh are the brightest nominees. In 2012, My Tam won the "Best Asian Artist" award at the MAMA Awards and became the first Vietnamese artist to get a continental title.

The vote for the "Best Worldwide Act" award consists of three stages, divided by region and will take place from September 16 through November 8.

In Vietnam, the fans will vote for their favorite artists through the program's Facebook page. The result will be announced on the night of July 29, to celebrate the second birthday of MTV Vietnam. Then the Vietnamese representative will continue to compete with singers in the region to choose the one who will represent Southeast Asia to compete with Asian countries in this category.

MTV EMA is an annual award of MTV, which is held a different European country each year. Derived from a prize awarded to outstanding artists in Europe, MTV EMA has been considered a major music award in the world, which is presented to the artists who make dedication to the world music scene. This year, the award will take place in the Netherlands.

From 2011, the category "Best Worldwide Act" has been opened for Asian artists. The first prize was granted to Big Bang, a boy band of South Korea.

In the previous year, only singers of five Southeast Asian countries joined this race, including Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.
