Nam improved his position after finishing in second place at the Bangkok Open Challenger ATP 50 that recently took place in Thailand. He received a prize of US$3,050 and 30 bonus points to reach a new career high of 290th in the latest Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) men’s singles rankings.

Specifically, he jumped from 328th to 290th on ATP rankings. This is a new milestone in the career of Vietnam’s top tennis player and is also the highest ranking ever achieved by a Vietnamese tennis player.

The Vietnamese tennis player even ranked above three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland, who stands at 295th place.

Nam will compete in the Challenger ATP 50 this week where he will face off against number three seed Yasutaka Uchiyama of Japan, who ranks 247th in the world, in the first round.
