VietNamNet Bridge - Being in the sprint stage for the Australian Junior Open 2014, Ly Hoang Nam will skip the 2013 South East Asian Championships in Thailand this November.
Currently, Ly Hoang Nam is ranked 140th on the ITF Junior Rankings with 258.75 points. To have enough points to compete in the main round at the Australian Junior Open 2014, Hoang Nam must be in the top 48. If he cannot achieve this goal, at least Hoang Nam must be in the top 100 to be able to compete in the qualifier round, through which to get a card to the Australian Junior Open 2014.
Hoang Nam’s Coach – Mr. Tran Duc Quynh, said that Hoang Nam will leave Vietnam on October 19 to participate in a series of events in Thailand, South Korea, USA, Mexico, Costa Rica and Venezuela. He will not return home until January 20, 2014. Thus, Hoang Nam will not attend the Southeast Asian Championships to focus on his number one goal – the Australian Junior Open 2014.
According to coach Tran Duc Quynh, the Southeast Asian Tennis Championships to be held this year just because tennis is rejected from the SEA Games 2013. This event is not in the scoring system of any significant international tournaments so strong players are not interested in this event.
For Vietnamese players, apart from Hoang Nam who will be busy with the ITF tournaments, Hoang Thien will also not attend this tournament to compete at the Men's Futute.
Hoang Nam will also not join the Davis Cup team of Vietnam in preparation for the matches in the framework of Group II Asia until he returns home in January 20, 2014.
