Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate Le Sy Bay was speaking about the findings at the 10th session of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly today, April 25.

The Government Inspectorate has been inspecting the Ministry of Health, Hanoi and HCMC for their alleged involvement in Viet A Technology Corporation’s price gouging of Covid test kits, said Bay, adding that the official results of the inspections will be reported to the Government in May.

In January, the Government Inspectorate approved a plan to launch three inspections into the procurement of Covid test kits, vaccines, drugs and medical supplies and equipment at the Ministry of Health and in Hanoi and HCMC. The inspections were set to last for up to 45 days.

At the 13th session of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission from March 28 to 31, the commission concluded the shortcomings and violations of several senior officials in the Viet A case.

These senior officials are Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, Hanoi Chairman Chu Ngoc Anh, who formerly served as Minister of Science and Technology, and Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son, the local media reported.
