VietNamNet Bridge – A foreign-invested enterprise in Ho Chi Minh City
will pay a New Year bonus of VND700 million (US$33,300) per employee this year,
the highest rate among the businesses that have announced their bonus plans,
the city Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs reported.

Accordingly, among foreign-invested enterprises, the lowest rate for New Year bonuses is VND611,000 ($29), and the average is VND3.8 million ($181) per employee, while the highest amount is that of the above company, the department said.
In the 100% State-owned sector, the highest bonus rate for the holiday is VND33.7 million, the average is VND3 million, and the lowest is VND1.5 million per employee.
Meanwhile, the highest, lowest, and average bonus rates injoint stock companies with State capital contributions are VND89 million, VND453,000, and VND2.5 million per employee, respectively.
Among private enterprises, the corresponding rates are VND88.2 million, VND910,000, and VND1.3 million per employee.
In regards to Lunar New Year bonuses, 100% State-owned enterprises will highest, lowest, and average rates of VND130 million ($6,200), VND7.2 million, and VND8.2 million per employee.
Joint stock companies with State-contributed capital offer the corresponding rates of VND356 million, VND5.6 million, and VND11.2 million per employee, respectively.
Among private enterprises, the highest rate is VND135 million, and the lowest is VND2 million per employee.
Meanwhile, the highest Lunar New Year bonus also belongs to a foreign-invested enterprise, at VND400 million ($19,000) per employee. The lowest and average rates among these are VND2 million and VND3.4 million.
The department also reported that the average number of days-off for Lunar New Year among all businesses this year is between 10 and 14 days.
