The book street is organised by the Ha Noi Department of Information and Communications, and aims at developing reading culture and creating more cultural spaces for citizens in the capital for the Lunar New Year festival.

The book street will include 25 decorated stalls, including popular domestic publishing houses and book companies like Kim Dong, Women, Literature, Ha Noi University of Education publishing houses, and Nha Nam Joint Stock Company.

Readers and book lovers will have chance to access a wide variety of books from publishing houses and book companies, making great gifts for the Lunar New Year.

The book street will also feature a Spring newspaper stall from the capital press agencies, a calligraphy art space and free calligraphy classes, mobile book stalls, and book café areas for readers.

Writing exchange programmes, historical book colouring, painting, traditional art and spring poetry performances will all be on show by publishing houses and book companies.

“Tet book street 2017 will be a meaningful event and will become a cultural destination for citizens in Ha Noi on the days of the Lunar New Year,” said Phan Lan Tu, director of Ha Noi Department of Information and Communications.
