Awards will include Golden Heart for the film selected by the jury and Pink Heart for the film voted by the audiences, worth VND20 million ($1000) each, Young Heart for films with new ideas and Green Heart for the best documentary about sustainable development.
Green Heart is a new award, granted by EcoAid. There will have a separate jury for this award, which includes Manfred Krautter, EcoAid director, documentary film maker Nguyen Trinh Thi and environmentalist Dang Huong Giang.
“We are living in a time when the crisis of faith is a big problem of each individual. Because of the lack of faith, there are a lot of injustice in the society, imbalance in ecological system, which affects the development and existence of the human and the nature. That is why we choose “Faith” as the theme of YxineFF 2011, and encourage film makers to show their thinking about sustainable development,” said Marcus Manh Cuong Vu, chief organizer of YxineFF 2011.
Launched last year, Yxine Film Fest has created a playground for independent short film makers and opportunity for them to introduce their products to the audience.
With the topic “Love”, Vu Hoang Quy (who lives in San Jose, California, USA) won the Golden Heart Award for “Thinking of You” and Vu Ngoc Phuong won the Pink Heart Award for “L.o.v.e”.
