Dong Bang Temple was built during the reign of Due Vuong (the 18th Hung King) to worship the father king Bat Hai Dong Dinh, who succeeded in protecting the kingdom’s peace and sovereignty.
The temple festival is held annually from the 20th to 26th of the eighth lunar month (October 9-15) to worship naiads and national heroes, including Tran Hung Dao and Pham Ngu Lao.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dang Thi Bich Lien asked Thai Binh province to complete a plan to preserve and promote the heritage value, and strengthen security to ensure safety for locals and visitors during the festival.
