VietNamNet Bridge – Thailand’s SCG will bring SCG MuangThong United, a football club of the Thai Premiere League, to Vietnam for friendly matches and training activities as part of the “SCG Muangthong ASEAN Tour 2016” program.

As scheduled, SCG Muangthong United will take part in a Viet-Thai friendly football match with the champions of V-League 2015 Becamex Binh Duong at Thong Nhat Stadium in HCMC at 6:00 p.m. on January 23. Stars of SCG Muangthong United including Teerasil Dangda, Datsakorn Thonglao, Kawin Thamsatchanan and Sarach Yooyen are expected to play at the match.

Besides friendly matches with student teams of Ton Duc Thang University and Bach Khoa University, members of the Thai football club will join “Kick & Share with SCG” which is a football training session for youngsters in Vietnam.

As the title sponsor of SCG MuangThong United for more than four years, SCG believes that the tournament will help bolster friendship between Vietnam and Thailand.

Ronnarit Suewaja, director of SCG MuangThong United, said in a statement that the ASEAN Tour is an opportunity for SCG MuangThong United to prepare the squad for the new season.

“Our team will bring the strongest squad with the top footballers playing for Thailand national football team and U23 to compete with the champions of V-League 2015, Becamex Binh Duong. Along the friendly nature, this tour is also the foundation for ASEAN Super League establishment that some top teams in ASEAN are discussing,” Ronnarit said.

For the “Kick & Share with SCG” event, SCG will provide activities called “Kick & Share with SCG” to help the youth in Vietnam get the foundation knowledge in football. Players from SCG MuangThong United will conduct a basic football skill workshop for Vietnamese youngsters to inspire them to play the sport and spend their free time engaging in a beneficial activity.
