She said the government has implemented various measures to help improve the ability of workers to cope with the rising cost of living.

The government wants workers to have suitable welfare, better safety, and good occupational health and environment in the workplace, she said.

To ensure security and a better quality of life, she said the 300 baht (about 9.8 U.S. dollars) minimum wage has been implemented in seven provinces and will cover all provinces by the end of 2013.

She said the government has supported skill training for workers, particularly language skills, to prepare Thai labor for implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.
