During a banquet hosted by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung on the evening of June 8, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul showcased his ability to play the T’rung, one of Vietnam’s traditional musical instruments.
The T’rung is a traditional Vietnamese instrument that shares similarities with Thailand’s Ranat Ek, a type of wooden xylophone.
Joining Vietnamese musicians, Anutin performed “Sabai Sabai,” a well-known Thai song that conveys messages of tranquility, relaxation and joy in life. The unexpected performance created a warm and friendly atmosphere while highlighting cultural exchange and the enduring friendship between Vietnam and Thailand.

Vietnam and Thailand officially established diplomatic relations on August 6, 1976, and have since maintained strong ties and a high level of political trust between their leaders and peoples. Over the years, cooperation between the two countries has expanded in both breadth and depth across all sectors, in line with their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.
