At 4pm on August 24, Thailand's national team departed for Vietnam to prepare for the second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final. Head coach Anthony Hudson is traveling with a 25-man squad.

According to the schedule, Thailand will arrive at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 8.20pm the same day. The team will hold a training session at My Dinh Stadium on August 25 before taking on Vietnam in the decisive second leg.

Despite losing 2-0 in the first leg, Hudson remains highly confident.

“We had two training sessions before traveling to Vietnam. My main objective is to get the players into the best possible physical condition, and then we will have another training session in Hanoi before the second leg,” he said.

“I can't go into detail about how we are preparing for the upcoming rematch. But what matters is that everyone - myself, the coaching staff and the players - still believes we can achieve a good result when we go to Vietnam."

“As I said after the first leg, we had chances to score but couldn't convert them, which was disappointing. Vietnam's goalkeeper was named Player of the Match, and that says quite a lot. What matters now is preparing as well as possible. When we arrive in Vietnam, we all believe Thailand can make things difficult for our opponents at My Dinh."

“We are not going to Vietnam for a holiday. We are going there to work seriously and accomplish our objective,” the Thailand coach added.

Meanwhile, striker Jehanafi Mama said: “Everyone understands that we cannot afford to be slow or lose concentration. We want to score the opening goal as early as possible so the game opens up. I think Thailand must be wary of our opponents' counterattacks and also manage our fitness, because we need to maintain our performance throughout the full 90 minutes.”

The second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final between Vietnam and Thailand will kick off at 8pm on August 26 at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi.
