Martial artists from 40 countries and territories will attend the 1st Asian Judo Kata Championships in Bangkok, Thailand from March 9-13.
They will compete in five categories including Nage Nokata, Kateme Nokata, Kime Kata, Juno Kata and Kodokang Goshin Jujitsu.


Two Vietnamese martial artists, Nguyen Thanh Tai and Nguyen Ngoc Son, who won gold medals in Nage Nokata at the 25th SEA Games will take part in the event.

* Ninh Binh hosts volleyball championships


The volleyball championships Hoa Lu-Cup 2011 opened in the northern province of Ninh Binh on March 1.  


Joining the event are club players from Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, Long An, Sanest-Khanh Hoa and Trang An-Ninh Binh and the Lao national team who had competed at the 25th Southeast Asia Games.


They play in the round robin format and the winner will receive a cash prize of VND70 million.


The event provides an excellent chance for them to prepare for the coming National Volleyball Championships 2011.
