Medal standings for Southeast Asian countries at the 2026 Asian Games.

After days of competition at the 20th Asian Games, Thailand emerged as the highest-ranked Southeast Asian delegation in the overall medal standings.

Thailand finished seventh overall with 18 gold, 13 silver and 21 bronze medals, for a total of 52. Notably, many of its gold medals came in Olympic sports, including three historic athletics titles in the men’s 100m, 200m and 400m.

Malaysia ranked second among Southeast Asian nations with nine gold, seven silver and 16 bronze medals, placing 11th overall. The results reflected Malaysia’s consistent performance across a range of sports.

Indonesia finished third in Southeast Asia with five gold, 11 silver and 23 bronze medals, for a total of 39.

The Philippines also delivered a notable performance, winning four gold, nine silver and 16 bronze medals to finish just behind Indonesia.

Vietnam ranked fifth in Southeast Asia and 19th overall with 25 medals, including three gold, three silver and 19 bronze.

Vietnam’s three gold medals came from strong performances in its traditional strengths, with two titles in sepak takraw and one in karate. The delegation also collected a number of bronze medals in Olympic sports and martial arts.

While Vietnam was unable to challenge the region’s leading sporting nations for a higher position, its medal haul reflected the delegation’s efforts to remain among Southeast Asia’s stronger performers.

Further down the regional standings, Singapore won two gold medals and Myanmar also claimed two, while Cambodia, Brunei and Laos managed only bronze medals.

Overall, the Southeast Asian medal race at the 20th Asian Games once again highlighted the strength of Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.
