Popular MC Thanh Bach will host the second season of Vietnam’s Got Talent reality show.

Host Thanh Bach (R) and Dang Khoa, a semi-fi nalist of last year’s contest
perform some dance moves by late singer Michael Jackson on stage
at Vietnam’s Got Talent’s press conference in HCM City.
Bach, who will replace actors Chi Bao and Quyen Linh, said: “I myself love this reality show so much and I’m happy to report on the contestants’ tears and smiles. My duty is to discover and encourage potential talent of each entrant.
“This is a challenge for me to host a show alone as it is a long program with a large amount of information. However, I believe in myself as well as the production team to fulfill this position.”
This season the judging panel consists of former model Thuy Hanh, musician Huy Tuan and Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc.
There are new features including the winner’s cash prize of VND500 million instead of VND400 million and auditions are being held in the southwestern region as well as the north, south, central and highlands.
Vietnam’s Got Talent 2012 will be aired on VTV3 at 8 p.m. every Sunday from December 2.
Last year’s event attracted 10,000 contestants nationwide and the winner was child dance duo Dang Quan and Bao Ngoc from Hanoi.
The program comes from a concept created by Simon Cowell with Britain’s Got Talent. It then debuted in June 2006 in the U.S. under the title America’s Got Talent and became the No. 1 entertainment show of NBC. Organizers VTV3, MediaCom Vietnam BHD and P&G Vietnam bought the copyright from FremantleMedia.
The program is open for people of all ages and genders nationwide, either as an individual or as a group, to sing, dance, perform magic, comedy or anything that contestants wish to perform on stage.
