VietNamNet Bridge – Duong Tri Thanh was elected chairman of the Viet Nam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation (VCRSF) in its meeting in Hanoi yesterday.

Thanh, general director of Vietnam Airlines, will be in charge for the 2018-21 term.

During his term, Thanh and his executive board aim to develop training for canoeing, rowing and sailing across the country and improve the results of national teams in the international tournaments.

In the past, Vietnam won a total of 73 golds, 58 silvers and 48 bronzes in international events.

Notably, Vietnamese rowers Ho Thi Ly and Ta Thanh Huyen reached the semifinals of the lightweight women’s double sculls in the Rio Olympics 2016.
