VietNamNet Bridge – Bui Thi Thu Thao won a gold medal in women’s long jump at the Chinese Taipei Athletics Open which wrapped up in Taipei Municipal Stadium on Saturday.

Thao recorded a jump of 6.34m to finish first.
“I am not satisfied with my result as my goal in this event was 6.40m,” said Thao.
Last August, Thao won gold in the Southeast Asian Games after clearing 6.68m.
Sunang Marestella of the Philippines took silver medal with a 6.22m jump, while with the result of 6.19m, Vietnamese Nguyen Thi Truc Mai took bronze.
Earlier, another Vietnamese representative Quach Thi Lan also won a gold medal in the women’s 400m with a time of 52.82secs. Lan’s teammate, Nguyen Thi Hang seized silver with a time of 55.03secs.
In the women’s triple jump, Vu Thi Men won the silver medal with a leap of 13.57m. Parinya Chuaimaroeng of Thailand won gold with 14.17m.
Vietnam sent 11 athletes to take part in the two-day event which was considered the most important event for many East Asian and Southeast Asian countries to prepare for the Asian Games that will be held in Jakarta in August.
