VietNamNet Bridge – The art of making 3D fish paintings, which was invented by Japanese artist Riusuke Fukahori, has appeared in Vietnam for around one year.

Painter Minh Ly works on a 3D fish painting at his workshop in HCMC’s Binh Thanh District.

It is a difficult job as it requires artists to be patient and careful, and spend a lot of time and effort creating a lifelike painting of gold fish. Normally, a 3D fish painting contains five to seven layers with different patterns for each layer.

With the skillful hands of artists, 3D fish paintings make people feel as if they were watching real fish swimming in a basin made from pottery or wood.

Following are some snapshots taken by Minh Ly, a 3D fish painter in Binh Thanh District, HCMC, and his works.

Ly is in his workshop full of 3D fish paintings he has created.
