Actress criticized for wearing Chinese traditional gown

A reader named Linh wrote: “Huyen actually doesn’t have national spirit. Wherever and whenever she wears cheongsam, I don’t respect this “21st Woman”. Our comment is not nitpicking of her private life. She is a person of the public so she is the asset of the public. We have the right to make comment of this issue”.
Reader Minh Tam wrote: “We don’t lack nice costumes that are recognized by the world. Let’s use them timely and properly. Let’s learn from President Ho Chi Minh: we don’t walk before our guests because that is disregarding them nor walking behind them because it shows that we are inferior to them, let’s walk on a par with them…”
Reader Ha Thanh Huong wrote: “La Thanh Huyen should apologize to Vietnamese people, because she is a Vietnamese woman and she must know her origin and be proud of her nationality, a country with thousands of years of history.”
Niemtinchienthang wrote: “She is the holder of 21st Woman title, but why did not she understand the situation and the culture of Vietnam? Why she “recklessly” wore Shanghai cheongsam? It is ridiculous!”
Nguyen hang wrote: “It was not recklessness! I’ve never seen any beauty who wears the national costume of another country abroad. It is terrible because a Vietnamese beauty, particularly the 21st Woman wore Chinese cheongsam. She lost the face of Vietnamese women”.

Nguoivietnam wrote: “Huyen should return the 21st Woman title because the 21st Woman title holder must have their national sense. If she is confident of her ability, she can compete in future events, and finally being ashamed and regret are the virtue of any woman and human in general”.
Since the scandal happened nearly two weeks ago, La Thanh Huyen has “disappeared”. Nobody can get contact with her.
