VietNamNet Bridge - 150 birds with different styles, different sizes, made of aluminum, wood and copper of sculptor Thai Nhat Minh are on display at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi.

 

 

The exhibition is divided into two spaces. The first space consists of three square columns with the height of about 3m and the width of 45 to 50cm, creating a huge “bird cage”. In this cramped space are a lot of birds with different gaits and moods.

The second space is created by bamboo splints which interconnect with each other, occupying the entire space of the 80m2 room. It expresses the flying orbits of the birds in an open space.

Thai Nhat Minh created these birds from 2011 to present. His original idea came from the image of small pieces of wood in a woodshop, which made he think of birds.

He wanted to borrow the image of birds to express personal feelings. Each bird expresses the mind, the desire to overcome obstacles and difficulties to open wings and fly to the sky.

At the exhibition, Thai Nhat Minh said: "Each bird evokes different emotions, which can be severe, tense, rough, or serene ... and expressed in condensed cubes.”
