Graduating from the Hanoi Economics University in 1984, Minh worked as a manager of military enterprises.

He started up by trading mangoes. However, after a failure which forced him to sell his house to pay debts, he decided to do business in the real estate sector and gained big success in the field.
HimLam Group which he established in 1994 is one of the largest real estate groups with 30 subsidiaries and associated units. The group now runs over 70 housing, urban area and golf course projects in Hanoi, HCM City and other provinces.
He is also president of Sacombank, LienViet Securities and Lien Viet Holdings.

After working in the automobile industry at different positions for many years, in 1997, Duong established Truong Hai Automobile company, or Thaco.
In 2000, the workshop specializing in assembling vans bearing Kia brand was set up. Thaco is the first private enterprise with 100 percent Vietnamese capital that makes and assembles cars.
Duong also is the CEO of Dai Quang Minh, a large real estate firm and recently he investef in agriculture by cooperating with Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group and Hung Vuong Seafood.
Nguyen Thi Nhu Loan, president of Quoc Cuong Gia Lai
Starting a woodwork processing and export company in 1980s, Loan quickly became a well known businesswoman in Gia Lai.
Later, she shifted to trade fertilizer, grow rubber trees, and develop hydraulic power. In 2005, she joined the real estate market and formed Quoc Cuong Gia Lai Company which now owns tens of projects in HCM City and many hydropower projects throughout the country.
Dang Van Thanh, president of TTC Group
Starting business by selling molasses in late 1970s, Thanh later began producing and trading alcohol, which was the forerunner of TTC Group.
At that moment, with chartered capital of VND100 million and 20 workers, Thanh Thanh Cong was one of the biggest alcohol production workshops in HCM City.
In 1989, he became one of the founders of Sacombank and was the president. Thanh left Sacombank in 2012 after a hostile takeover. Together with other members of the family, he began reaping success in other production fields with TTC Group.
Tran Kim Thanh, president of Kido Group
From a small workshop specializing in making snacks, Thanh built up Kido Group in 1993 which quickly became one of the leading food companies in Vietnam.
In 2016, Kido sold the sweet manufacturing division to Mondelez International, but it still holds eight subsidiaries.
