Long Bien Bridge, Hanoi: This is the first steel bridge across the Red River, built by the French company Dayde & Pille from 1899 to 1902.
The bridge has s railway in the middle and two lanes for pedestrians, motorcycles and bycicles.
Chua Cau (Bridge Pagoda), Hoi An: The 18 m long bridge spanning the canal flowing out to the Thu Bon River is one of the most famous monuments of the ancient town of Hoi An.
The bridge was built by Japanese traders in the 17th century. In 1653, a Buddhist temple was built on the bridge. Since then the bridge has been called “Chua Cau” (Bridge Pagoda). The bridge was rebuilt in 1817.
Chua Cau has unique architecture and elaborately carved. In 1719, Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu visited Hoi An and named it Lai Van Kieu bridge.
Thanh Toan tile bridge (Thua Thien – Hue): The wooden bridge spanning the canal of Thanh Thuy Chanh village, in Thuy Thanh Commune, Thua Thien – Hue province, is a rare and precious work of high artistic value.
It is nearly 19m long, divided into seven compartments. The bridge a the tile roof. Thanh Toan Bridge was built over 200 years ago. It was repaired several times after being destroyed by natural disasters and wars.
Truong Tien Bridge (Hue): Also known as Trang Tien Bridge, the bridge is associated with the romantic image of Hue City. The bridge, with the Gothic architectural style, was designed and built by the French firm Eiffel, completed in 1899.
Truong Tien Bridge has become a part of life for the Hue people, and the must-see destination in the ancient capital city of Hue.
Mong Bridge is no longer for transportation but it has become a romantic venue for Saigon youth.
The 223m Ghenh Bridge spanning the Dong Nai River was built in the Gothic style by the French firm Eiffel in 1902.
In the past the bridge was a major transport work in southern Vietnam. Today it is still an important bridge of the North-South railway. When the bridge was hit on March 20 by a barge, the North-South railway had to suspend operation.
