On June 16, a working group of the Ministry of National Defense led by Major General Pham Van Thai - Deputy Director of the Army Training Department of the General Staff - inspected the training results of phase I 2020 of the High Command of the Coast Guard Region 2.
Joining the working group were Colonel Tran Quang Tuan, Deputy Chief of the Coast Guard and representatives of functional agencies of the High Command of Coast Guard.

In the first 6 months of 2020, the High Command of the Coast Guard Region 2 completed 100% of the phase I combat training plan with high quality and efficiency. Agencies and units have proactively and actively renewed training methods and content suitable to the situation, tasks and characteristics of the unit.
The training results have met the requirements of duties in political security protection, patrol, inspection, control, and law enforcement in the waters and islands of the country; knowledge of the law, handling of violations at sea, sense of responsibility, determination, endurance while performing rescue works for fishermen in distress raised.
The High Command Region 2 has successfully completed the task of tactic training combined with conducting exercises using real bullets at sea, providing additional training for civilian forces to participate in the task of mobilizing manpower and vehicles according to Decree No. 30/2010/ND-CP dated March 29, 2010, and the amended and supplemented articles in Decree 130/2015/ND-CP dated December 18, 2015 of the Government.

The High Command Region 2 has also done well the task of ensuring adequate facilities, training materials; consolidating training grounds, and fully preparing classrooms and training venues. The financial, logistical and technical guarantees for the training task have been renewed and the quality is improved. The training fund is used effectively. The training field system and training grounds are good enough for the training process.
Major General Pham Van Thai acknowledged the efforts and achievements of the officers and soldiers of the High Command Region 2 in combat training phase I in 2020, and requested the High Command Region 2 soon to overcome the limitations in the training that the inspection team pointed out, and implement the phase II combat training plan in a serious and comprehensive manner, close to the situation of the mission and the unit’s organization and equipment.
