VietNamNet Bridge - "I - CAMP" is the first brick for building Vietnam’s first contemporary art, initiated by artist, curator Tran Luong.

In recent years, contemporary art has begun to develop in Vietnam thanks to the effort of several individuals. Due to the lack of unfavorable environment for this genre of art, contemporary artworks have not been preserved well.

Artist, curator Tran Luong has had the idea of building a museum dedicated to this new genre. He has launched a project called “Initiative - Contemporary Arts Museum, abbreviated as I – CAMP.”

The first phase of the project, taking place over a year - from 7/2013, is assisted by the Muong Studio – the contemporary arts center of the Museum of Muong Cultural Space, funded by the Vietnam-Denmark Cultural Development and Exchange Fund (CDEF).

The most important goals of I - CAMP poses is to create the exhibition space for contemporary artworks, including installation, video art, photography, concept art, land art and site - specific art, create and develop venues for cultural and artistic exchange, indigenous cultural development and form a private museum of contemporary art.

More than 10 artists in Hanoi have been involved in this project, including famous names like Trinh Thi, Luong Hue Trinh, Huy An, The Son ... Curator Tran Luong is the one who chose the works and ideas for the project.

On December 13, 2013, the I - CAMP exhibition, the first phase was held at the Museum of Muong Cultural Space in Hoa Binh province. After the exhibition, the artworks will be preserved at the Muong Culture Museum.
