Curated by The Factory and Inlen Photo Gallery, more than 100 multimedia artworks at the exhibition depict the relationships between machine and nature.

“Nature”, in the broadest sense of the word, is the natural, physical, or material world. Although humans are a part of nature, human activities are not considered a natural phenomenon. In the 21st century, when urban life is the most popular, machines have more impacts on people’s daily activities than nature.

“Machine is Nature” is divided into four themes, namely Matters, Manipulations, Mechascapes, and Ruminations.

Viewers can find and feel the beauties of the exhibited photographs and moving images, but they should acknowledge these beauties are the results of toxic and destructive things that humans have done to nature.

Although humans’ ability to control, analyze, transform and innovate the processes and systems of nature has once created surprising solutions to their needs, it has also come at a cost.
