VietNamNet Bridge – Being awkward to kiss each other publicly, pouring champagne, releasing balloons... 10 couples of brides and grooms had their impressive debut in the first group wedding held in Hanoi on March 17.

After offering flowers at the monument to martyrs of Thinh Liet Ward, in Hoang Mai district, the ten couples went to the Thinh Liet Elementary School on cyclos to take part in the first group wedding ceremony held in the capital city.

The wedding was organized by the Hanoi Youth Union on the occasion of the 82nd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26), and in response to the directive of the Hanoi Party Committee on the implementation of a civilized life in organizing weddings and funerals.

The grooms dressed in traditional costumes of ao dai (long gown) and ready-to-wear turbans and the brides in ao dai moved to the stage ....

... in the boisterous lion dances and congratulatory applause.

The couples exchanged wedding rings on stage.

 After the wedding host, actor Xuan Bac proposed them to kiss, some young people were embarrassed to kiss in front of hundreds of guests. 

They poured champagne together. 

The Hanoi Party Secretary, Mr. Pham Quang Nghi, sent gift – a calligraphic work featuring happiness – to the couples. 

Along with the nine remaining couples, young couple Vu Ngoc Tu and Le Thi Phuong Anh offered to the guests betel, areca and confectionary.

 At the end of the program, couples released balloons, noted with their wishes to live together for life and happiness.
