VietNamNet Bridge – The parks of Gia Dinh, Hoang Van Thu, Tao Dan and the Saigon Zoo with thousands of trees are ideal venues for fresh air and relaxation of HCM City people and visitors.


Gia Dinh Park, located in the districts of Go Vap, Tan Binh and Phu Nhuan, was formed in 1978. The initial area was quite large but it was then gradually narrowed. Since 2005, the area has been about 32 hectares. The park is considered the largest green lung of Saigon. The park is divided by a 650m long and 20m wide road connecting Hong Ha Road with Nguyen Thai Son intersection leading to Tan Son Nhat airport.



Gia Dinh Park currently has approximately 1,000 trees of various types and more than 63,000 m2 of grass. There is a large playground for children with an area of about 4,000 m2 with 30 free games.

 

 


Hoang Van Thu Park in Tan Binh District was established in 1989, covering an area of over 10 hectares, located at the gateway to the Tan Son Nhat airport.



Hoang Van Thu Park has many trees, flowers, hills, and lakes for fishing and ornamental plants. Every day there are many forms of cultural activities held here. This place is good for organizing large-scale programs to celebrate national festivals and events.



Le Thi Rieng Park in District 10, with an area of eight hectares and 80% of it covered with trees and a big lake, is a good place for fishing, exercise and games, and a venue for ornamental tree clubs.





Le Van Tam Park in Da Kao Ward, District 1 has an area of 6.24 ha, located between the four roads of Hai Ba Trung, Dien Bien Phu, Phan Liem and Vo Thi Sau. It opened to the public in 1985 after two years of construction.



At the center of the park is a monument of hero Le Van Tam and a fountain. 



Park 23/9 in Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1 has an area of 9.46 ha. The park is divided into three parts because of the two roads of Nguyen Thai Hoc and Ton That Tung.



Located in the city center, Park 23/9 attracts many tourists.



Tao Dan Park in Ben Thanh Ward, District 1 has many ancient trees. It is named the great lung of the city center (10 ha) with over 100 species of trees more than 100 years old.



Truong Dinh road divides Tao Dan Park into two parts. Inside the park are the temples of Hung Kings, Cham towers, Dinh Bo Linh statue ... 



Park 30/4 in Ben Nghe Ward, District 1 has a total area of about 3.5 hectares, with four areas, in which the green area accounts for about 2.3 hectares.



30/4 Park is located amid historical and cultural sites, such as the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, City Post Office ....



Saigon Zoo in Ben Nghe Ward, District 1 is located near the Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal. This is one of the oldest zoos in the world. In 1864, Admiral De la Grandi signed a decree for the construction of the Saigon Zoo with an area of 20 hectares. Jean Baptiste Louis (1833 - 1905) is the founder and the first director of the Saigon Zoo.



Saigon Zoo is considered a historical and cultural site and a natural museum and botanical garden of the city and country. After more than 130 years of existence, the zoo now has 590 animals of 125 species, 1,800 trees belonging to 260 species, 23 species of domestic orchids, 33 species of cactus, 34 types of bonsai, among others. Every day, thousands of tourists come to visit.
