The Guardian, a renowned UK magazine, has challenged readers to do a math puzzle for Vietnamese eight-year-olds which has stumped both parents and teachers alike.
The math puzzle.
The problem, as quoted from the source of local newspaper VNexpress, appeared on a test for third graders in the Central Highlands town of Bao Loc.
According to The Guardian, there is no complicated math involved, only basic arithmetic but it’s still not very easy.
“You need to fill in the gaps with the digits from 1 to 9, so that the equation makes sense and following the order of operations - multiply first, then division, next addition and subtraction last,” says UK magazine.
