Tra Vinh is about 150km south of Ho Chi Minh City and 80km to the east of Can Tho City. To go to Tra Vinh, visitors often go along Highway 1A to Long An, My Tho, Ben Tre and to the town of Mo Cay.

From the town of Mo Cay visitors can take ferry across the Co Chien River to the land of Tra Vinh. This ferry is going to be closed when the nearby Co Chien cable-stayed bridge is put into operation in the near future.

Tra Vinh is the home to unique Khmer temples. The most prominent temple in Vam Ray, in Tra Cu district, was rebuilt from the old one that was destroyed during the war. Vam Ray Temple is one of the most beautiful Khmer temples in the southwestern region.

Kosla Temple is also a beautiful pagoda in Tra Cu district.

Xoai Xiem is a small temple in the town of Tra Cu.

From the city of Tra Vinh to Chau Thanh town, tourists can see the Cave Temple (Kompongor in Khmer meaning banyan tree wharf). This beautiful temple is located in the middle of a forest, which has many bird species.

Along Highway 53 from Tra Vinh to the town of Tieu Can, visitors will go to the most famous destination of Tra Vinh - Ang Pagoda, Ba Om Pond and the Khmer culture research center.

Ba Om Pond is the most famous landscape of Tra Vinh.

Ben Co rice cake, a local specialty.

In Tra Vinh market, there are many famous pha lau noodle shops.

Tra Vinh noodle soup has its own character. The most famous Tra Vinh noodle soup is located on Dong Khoi Street.

One of the specialties that tourists often buy is Tra Cuon banh tet (rice cake) in the district of Cau Ngang.
