VietNamNet Bridge – After about 45 minutes on the boat to the Cau islet in Binh Thuan Province, we felt the flavors of the sea through salty wind. Occasionally we saw several fishermen bathing nude.

Cau Island is about 9 km from the shore and it can be approached from many points such as Phuoc The commune, Vinh Hao commune, Binh Thanh or Ca Na commune. Our group departed from Phuoc The and it took us 45 minutes by the boat to the island.

The island is called Cau because according to local fishermen, this island has a lot of rau cau (edible seaweeds).

The sites named by fishermen as Love cave, Naked Bathing beach, Joy rivulet, Coral beach, Stream Fish beach For are very suitable for backpackers and those who prefer adventure travel and exploration.

Cau Islet is about 110 km to the northeast of Phan Thiet City. Around the island is blue sea water. When tide is low, sparkling shells are exposed on the beach.

Cau Islet is still unknown by tourists so to come here, you must contact with the local fishermen. At present, some locals are willing to offer boat and accommodations services to tourists.

The cost for a trip to Cau Islet is cheap, about VND550,000 ($25) per person.

After returning from the island, you can visit the Co Thach or Hang (Cave) Pagoda.
