Strengthen trade promotion, connection, and support for consumption of local agricultural products.

From October 20 to 22, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion under the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province coordinated with the People's Committee of Bien Ho commune, Pleiku city to organize a market to introduce products from ethnic minority and mountainous areas and to implement the National Target Program for socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in 2023.

The market was held at Ia Nueng Village Hall, Bien Ho Commune, Pleiku City, with 30 stalls introducing coffee, tea, and medicinal products, essential oils, fruits and vegetables, pepper and many local agricultural products. Among them, there were 5 booths displaying products of Bien Ho commune, 25 booths of production households, cooperatives, and businesses in the province.

The market is expected to enhance trade promotion, connectivity, and support the consumption of agricultural products between production and business establishments with cooperatives, and businesses, through which promoting production and business in ethnic minority areas based on local potentials and strengths; encouraging local people to boldly start businesses, create jobs and livelihoods to diversify income sources and improve material and spiritual life; at the same time, preserving and promoting the cultural values of the ethnic minority community in the area.

So far this year, localities of Gia Lai province have organized 10 trade promotion events to sell local products, particularly their specialties and OCOP (one commune one product) products such as vegetables, fruits, honey, pork and 38 preprocessed products such as coffee, macadamia nuts, salted cashews, and dried jackfruit... All products are selected and evaluated as typical local products, with clear origin.
