Previously, the local media reported that Mrs. Vung, in Nghia Binh commune, Tan Ky district, Nghe An province, did not eat grain for 50 years, but she was still healthy.

Mr. Cao Van Huan, Vung’s son, said: "My mother gave up rice since 1964, when she was pregnant with my 8th sister. At that time, she vomited whenever she smelled the rice. "

Since then, Mrs. Vung only ate potatoes and cassava instead of rice.

In 2009, she suddenly ate rice again.

Vung died after a serious illness.
