Vietnam's Next Top Model, Round 1 is the first round of Top Model franchise to be produced in Vietnam by Vietnam Television and Multimedia JSC. The premiere was on September 30, 2010 and the season finale in which the top three compete against each other on the stage is coming live on VTV3.

Like in any other reality show series, there is the host and the head judge - just like talk-show host and model Tyra Banks in the original franchise. The show shares the same format.

At the beginning of the show, Nathan Lee and Elizabeth Thuy Tien were criticized for competing to lead the judging panel. Nathan Lee is a male model but speaks Vietnamese quite fluently, meanwhile female supermodel Elizabeth has lived overseas for such a long time that she can't speak as well. They were both refused after two episodes. The new judging members were immediately confirmed at a prominent press conference, including model Nguyen Vu Ha Anh, designer Huy Vo and former male model Duc Hai.

The winner will sign a contract with CA Model and Talent Agency to be represented for two years, worth $50,000, go on an all-paid trip to US for training with Wilhelmina Models, and receive a VIP Diamond Membership card at California Fitness and Yoga Center that is worth over $15,000. She will also be on the cover of Her World Magazine as well as to be supplied with free Revlon cosmetic products that are worth over $10,000 and be presented with a diamond ring from Unique Jewelries, worth over $10,000.

Khieu Thi Huyen Trang Coming from a place where fashion is not popular, she had no knowledge of posing, catwalk or basic skills such as makeup or style building. However, she won the audience because of her effort and patience. Being aware that she doesn’t have as many advantages as the other girls, Huyen Trang always tries to listen attentively to the judges and never reacts negatively to their harsh comments, or the even more critical ones by her housemates. Being open to other opinions and improving herself, the “duck” girl has made gradual progress and changes into a “swan”.

Nguyen Thi Tuyet Lan began the contest with many advantages because her measurements are like those of an international model (175cm). Tuyet Lan was outstanding right from the casting as the praises the judges gave her reflected. However, from the first episode, Tuyet Lan continuously came at the bottom of the list and didn’t win any competitions. Only as some contestants, who at first appeared not to have many chances of winning, began to progress, did Tuyet Lan wake up and come back to the race. She is gradually improving by overcoming fears and poor physical strength to finally make it to the top three.

Nguyen Thu Thuy didn’t make a strong impression in the first episodes because she didn’t really put all her effort into the contest and did not seem determined to win. However, since she was FCO with the photo taken in the desolate house in the 5th episode, Thu Thuy has gradually grown aware of her potential and became more confident. Her photos were not good, and she was at the bottom of the list many times; her weakest point is her unstable manner. Thu Thuy manages to prove her ability, but in order to perform well in the final show, Thu Thuy should make a double effort.
