VietNamNet Bridge – The 30-year-old mulberry tree has an extremely rare shape, with two crops a year. It is considered the most special ornamental mulberry tree in Vietnam.

This tree was recently displayed at the spring festival in Ninh Hiep commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi.

The tree owner, Mr. Chu Manh Hung, said the tree is more than 30 years old. Its shape is called “dang lao”, a very rare shape for ornamental mulberry trees because the mulberry usually grows in the straight line. The tree owner took tens of years to create this shape.

Hung said he bought the tree from bonsai artisan Huynh in Me So commune, Van Giang district, Hung Yen province two months ago.

The tree yields fruit twice a year over a two-month period.

Hung said he would sell the tree for VND100 million ($5,000).
