VietNamNet Bridge – Young Vietnamese tennis players Nguyen Hoang Thien and Ly Hoang Nam were knocked out of the Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup on Wednesday in Malaysia.

In the second round of the boys' singles, Nam lost to India's Arjun Kadhe 6-4, 6-3 while Thien went down battling to Charles Boyce of the US 6-0, 1-6, 7-5.

In the boys' doubles, Thien and Australia's James Frawley received a bye into the second round after their rivals dropped out of the competition.

* Heat lose to Philippines Patriots

Vietnamese club Sai Gon Heat ended their three-match winning streak in the ASEAN Basketball League after losing 57-73 to the Philippines Patriots at Tan Binh Gymnasium on Wednesday.

The Heat rose to a 30-25 lead in the second quarter, but Rob Wainwright and Warren Ybanez fought back to give the Patriots a 34-30 advantage.

In the final quarter, the Heat's Noy Javier and John Smith both missed three-pointers as the Patriots continued to extend their lead.

The Heat will face the Indonesia Warriors at Tan Binh Gymnasium tomorrow, March 17.
