VietNamNet Bridge – VietNamNet’s 2013 “Things Everlasting Concert” will be held at the Hanoi Opera House and aired live at 2pm on September 2 on VTV1 and ANTV channels and the Voice of Vietnam’s FM program.

The show will continue introducing classic music works by Vietnamese composers, in an effort to popularize Vietnamese music, and to honor Vietnamese music and Vietnamese talents.

The director of this concert is still senior composer Duong Thu.

According to Duong Thu, the concert will introduce two chapters of the symphony “Ko Nhi” for ballet by composer Van Ky. This work was composed in the 70s and it was performed in Kazakhstan in 1970, Germany in 1972 and Russia in 1984 by the national symphony orchestras of these countries.

Other works consist of the impromptu “Street” by Trong Day for percussion, wood and bronze instruments combined with traditional instruments used in Tuong (Vietnamese classical opera) and ca tru (ceremonial songs) of Vietnam; the soundtrack for the movie “Floating Lives” for string instruments by musician Quoc Trung; and a folk adaptation - Xe Chi Luon Kim (Spinning threat, threading a needle) for symphony orchestra by Tran Manh Hung.

Seven songs are also selected for the show, including: Hon Vong Phu (composed in mid 40s) by Le Thuong, the first Western style epic of Vietnam; Ben Kia Song Duong (Across the Duong River) by Hoang Cam, written in 1950; Tieng Dan Bau (The sound of Vietnamese monochord) by Lu Giang and Nguyen Dinh Phuc; Ho Chi Minh City – The Most Beautiful Name by Tran Kiet Tuong; Half a Painful Soul by Thanh Tam Tuyen and Pham Dinh Chuong.

These works will be performed by the most famous artists of Vietnam.
