VietNamNet Bridge - Two have been killed and one has gone missing in Quang Binh province in central Vietnam where typhoon Nesat struck last weekend. At the same time, flood hit the record high level in the Mekong Delta.

A 3-year-old boy from Minh Hoa district and a man from Dong Hoi city were drowned after falling into the flood water September 30. Another man from Bo Trach district was reported missing after he did not come back from a fishing trip at sea.

Many roads and residential areas have been seriously flooded, especially the Ho Chi Minh Highway section which passes Phu Nhieu, Thuong Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district.

The floodwater in the area has gone up to 1 meter deep, which blocked all the road traffic. It was also reported that 2,000 ha of cassava crops in Bo Trach district has been destroyed.

Thousands of families in Tan Hoa, Quang Binh have to live on the roofs because of flooding.

While the floods have not withdrawn, another typhoon named Nalgae is heading to central Vietnam.

In the Mekong Delta, flooding has killed at least five and submerged thousands of houses.
