VietNamNet Bridge - Despite the rain on the night of March 31, around 20,000 people gathered at the Crescent Park in District 7 for a concert to commemorate Trinh Cong Son.

Two expats to perform Trinh songs in Hanoi


Titled: “Let It Be Gone with the Wind – The Blue Color in Words of the Wind,” the concert was held to commemorate Trinh Cong Son’s 11th dead anniversary.

The annual event to commemorate the late composer had taken place at the Binh Quoi Resort in Binh Thanh District for the last 10 years. This year, it moved to the 7-hectare Crescent Park.

The show had the presence of famous local singers and bands including Duc Tuan, Lan Ngoc, HCMC Conservatory of Music’s choir, saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan, guitarist Vinh Tam and singer Trinh Vinh Trinh, younger sister of the late musician.

Singers performed over 30 songs of the late composer within the two-hour show, including “Thuong Mot Nguoi” (To Love Someone), “Nhu Canh Vac Bay” (Like a Flying Crane), “Diem Xua” (Diem of The Past), “Hom Nay Toi Nghe” (Today I Hear), “Nay Em Co Nho” (Do You Remember?), “Ru Tinh” (Lull Love to Sleep), “De Gio Cuon Di” (Let It Go with The Wind), “Bien Nho” (A Sea’s Yearning) and “Duong Xa Van Dam” (Thousand Miles Away).

Earlier, a Trinh Cong Son concert took place successfully in Hanoi on March 30, at the Worker Theatre. The show was held by singer Anh Tuyet, with the participation of two foreign singers, Kyo York from the US and Lee Kirby from the UK, besides senior composer Nguyen Anh 9 and guitarist The Vinh.

On Apirl 1, the Trinh Cong Son Commemoration House at 47C Pham Ngoc Thach, HCM City, opened from 7am to 4pm for fans to burn incense, talk, sing and see pictures of the late composer and those of the show at the Crescent Park.
