With patriotic celebrations and tributes happening all over town, more than 2,000 young people came up with the novel idea to assemble at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House in the shape of a human flag.

It was part of the annual Toi Yeu To Quoc Toi (I Love My Country) festival celebrated this year on August 29 by young people throughout the city.

At the festival students came together and sang songs like Den Voi Con Nguoi Viet Nam Toi (Welcome to Vietnam) to honour their country.

By the thousands, young people donned in red tees with a yellow star expressed their patriotism for the nation.
