The information was recently announced by the Ha Noi Railway Transport JSC (HARACO).

Some 72,400 seats are available for passengers travelling from southern to northern localities before Tet, during February 5-14, and almost 99,700 seats are available for passengers going from northern to southern localities after Tet, from February 19 to March 3.

Tickets can be purchased online via the official websites of the railways, dsvn.vn and vetau.com.vn, as well as at train stations and ticket offices listed on saigonrailway.com.vn and vantaiduongsathanoi.vn.

Passengers should buy tickets only from these sources to avoid fake and overpriced tickets, railway officials said.

On January 10, Viet Nam Railways Corporation (VNR) launched six new, high-quality trains on the North-South route to meet increasing transport demand during Tet.

Next year, VNR aims to give train tickets on sale six months prior to Tet to have better capital turnover, said VNR chairman Vu Anh Minh. Passengers who book early tickets will get discounts, he said.
