Nguyen Van Quyet, Tran Buu Ngoc and Duong Thanh Hao are three phenomenal Vietnamese football players who were born in the year of the Goat.
Nguyen Van Quyet – mainstay of Vietnam’s football team
Midfielder Nguyen Van Quyet, 23, is best remembered for his stellar performance at the U21 Thanh Nien (Youth) Newspaper Cup in 2010.
In 2011, Quyet played for Hanoi T&T and helped them reach the quarter-finals at the 2014 AFC Cup for the first time in the team’s history.
In 2015 he will marry fiancée Huyen My, daughter of Nguyen Giang Dong, chairman of the Hanoi Football Club.
Tran Buu Ngoc – young leading goalkeeper of Vietnam
Tran Buu Ngoc, 23, is one of the top goalkeepers in the history of Vietnamese football. Since his selection by Japanese Coach Miura he has contributed enormously to the U23 Vietnam football team and is best remembered for his brilliant play at the 17th Asian Games in the Republic of Korea. Ngoc is currently playing for the Can Tho Club following his transfer from the Dong Thap Club.
Duong Thanh Hao – the way to the success
Duong Thanh Hao, also 23, was born in Binh Dinh province where he grew up playing football on its sandy beaches. His talent first began drawing national attention while he was playing for Ca Mau in the Vietnamese Second Division.
He was called up by coach Dong Thap Trang Van Thanh to play for the U23 Vietnam team in 2011 and will always be known for his fantastic performance at the Sea Games 26 in Jakarta, Indonesia. In the 2015 season, Hao will play for Hanoi T&T.
