This includes two female athletes, including one runner who has won high achievements in the Asian arena, and a male athlete who won a silver medal at the 31st SEA Games.

The names of these athletes are still being hidden by the Vietnam Anti-Doping Center and the Vietnamese athletics team.

Athletics is the sport with the highest number of athletes believed to have illegally used drugs at the 31st SEA Games.

Previously, the Vietnam Anti-Doping Center announced that six athletes were suspected of doping, including two female athletes (one won a gold medal at the 31st SEA Games).

Deputy Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training Tran Duc Phan told VietNamNet that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has not made a final announcement on these suspected cases. After WADA releases its official statement, the Vietnamese General Department of Sports and Physical Training will make an announcement about this.

At the 31st SEA Games, the organizers took random samples of nearly 1,000 athletes for doping tests.

At the 31st SEA Games, Vietnam athletics successfully defended the first place of the whole team with a total of 22 gold medals, 10 more than the second-place team, Thailand.

In case the athletes are defined to use doping, they will lose their medals and face a ban from domestic and international competitions.
