Ngo Bao Nghi: Top amateur golfer

Within four years, Ngo Bao Nghi has always been firm in the number one position of Vietnamese women golf.

Nghi began practicing golf at the age of 12 when she followed her father to the golf course. When she was a student of an international high school in Bangkok, Thailand, she had plenty of time and opportunities to practice golf at a golf course near her school. Ngo Nghi said that she practiced at least two hours a day, two days at the golf course each week.

Nghi is very young but she has a collection of trophies and titles, such as the Champion Cup of the Vietnam Women’s Golf Championships, the Vietnam junior championship and the championship of the Vietnam Faldo Series Championship. Nghi is studying at the Lamar University in Texas, USA.

Tang Thi Nhung: First professional female golfer of Vietnam

Becoming a professional golfer in 2007, just a year after Nhung won at the first international tournament - the Phoenix USA. She continued to win the award in 2009.

At the age of 35, Nhung is living in Bangkok because her husband - a Canadian oil and gas engineer – is working there. That further helps her pursue her passion for golf.

The latest achievement of Nhung is an Albatross at the Thailand Ladies Open, held at the Siam Country Club in last November. At the Singha-Sat Thai LPGA Championship last year, she won the second place.

Recently Nhung has positively attended the events of the Ladies Asian Golf Tour - where she is a member, then returned to Vietnam to participate in golf tournaments.

Nhung targets to represent Vietnam at the Olympic Games 2016.

Brianna Do: First Vietnamese female player in LPGA

2013 became an unforgettable landmark with Briana Do when she became the first Vietnamese golfer named in the notable professional competition system of women in the U.S. (LPGA).   

Brianna Do was born in 1990 in California in a Vietnamese-origin family. Here parents are so passionate about sports so since her childhood, Brianna Do had a chance to play various sports, including golf.

Like many other golfers, she came to golf through her father. The passion for golf gradually appeared when Brianna was commented by her coach "particularly gifted with golf." Since then, golf has not just a part of life but becoming a professional athlete has become Brianna Do’s goal.

2011 was a memorable year for Brianna. That year she won an important tournament: U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. One year later, she competed at the U.S. Women's Open and many other tournaments and finally she was eligible to participate in LPGA. In 2014 she is also named in the LPGA, with the ranking even better than last year.

Brianna Do and her father, Do Xuan Qui, are planning to return to Vietnam to participate in local tournaments in the future.
